Clear comparisons of nurse practitioner programs
Choosing an NP program is a major professional and financial decision. Yet the details that matter most, like tuition, clinical requirements, campus visits, and degree pathways, are often scattered across dozens of university pages.
NPPrograms.com brings that information together. We profile nurse practitioner programs at the school level, so you can see every NP specialty a university offers and how its pathways compare.
What we cover
For each school, we focus on the facts that help you compare, qualify, budget, and plan:
- NP specialties offered: FNP, PMHNP, AGPCNP, AGACNP, PNP, and others.
- Degree pathways: MSN, DNP, BSN-to-DNP, and post-graduate certificates.
- Format: Online, Mostly Online, Hybrid, or Campus, based on actual attendance requirements rather than marketing labels.
- Clinical requirements: Clinical hours and whether the school arranges placements.
- Tuition: Current tuition information from official university sources.
- Admissions: Key requirements and eligibility for each pathway.
Our state pages show NP programs by location, and every school profile links to the university’s official pages so you can verify current details.
How we research programs
Profiles are built from official university sources, including program pages, catalogs, handbooks, and tuition schedules. We standardize the information so programs can be compared side by side.
When something isn’t clearly published by the university, we leave it out rather than guess. Profiles are reviewed every four to five weeks. Universities can change tuition and requirements at any time, so always confirm details with the school before applying.
Independence
NPPrograms.com is an independent publication. We are not affiliated with any university, and schools do not pay to be profiled or to influence what we publish.
The site is supported by advertising. Advertisers have no influence over which schools we profile or what our profiles say.
We are not a healthcare provider, and our content is for educational purposes. It is not career, legal, or financial advice.
Our network of specialty sites
NPPrograms.com is part of a network of nursing education sites operated by the same independent publisher. Each covers one NP specialty in more depth:
- OnlineFNP.org: Family Nurse Practitioner programs
- PMHNPOnline.com: Psychiatric-Mental Health NP programs
- ACNPPrograms.com: Acute Care NP programs
- PNPPrograms.com: Pediatric NP programs
- AGPCNPOnline.com: Adult-Gerontology Primary Care NP programs
When you’ve narrowed your search to one specialty, our state pages link to these sites for a deeper comparison.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where does your program information come from?
From official university sources: program pages, academic catalogs, student handbooks, and tuition schedules. We don’t use rankings sites, forums, or third-party directories as sources.
How often is the information updated?
Profiles are reviewed every four to five weeks. Because schools can change details between reviews, each profile links to the university’s official pages for final verification.
Is NPPrograms.com free to use?
Yes. The site is free for students and supported by advertising.
Do schools pay to be listed?
No. Schools cannot pay for a profile, a better placement, or changes to what we publish.
Why don’t some profiles show a total program cost?
Many universities use tuition caps, flat-rate pricing, or residency-based rates, which make a simple credits-times-rate total misleading. In those cases, we show a current tuition example and link to the school’s official tuition page or estimator so you can calculate your own cost.
Why is some information missing from a profile?
If a university doesn’t clearly publish a detail, such as program length or start terms, we leave it out rather than estimate it. Contact the school’s admissions office for anything not covered.
What do “Online,” “Mostly Online,” “Hybrid,” and “Campus” mean?
- Online: No required campus visits. Clinical rotations can still be local and in person.
- Mostly Online: Online coursework with a limited number of required campus visits, such as orientations or intensives.
- Hybrid: Regular, recurring in-person classes, such as weekly or biweekly.
- Campus: Primarily in-person instruction.
We assign these labels based on each program’s actual attendance requirements, not the school’s marketing description.
How is NPPrograms.com different from your specialty sites?
NPPrograms.com compares all the NP programs at a school in one place. Our specialty sites go deeper into a single NP population focus. If you’re still deciding on a specialty, start here. If you already know you want FNP or PMHNP, for example, the specialty site offers a more detailed comparison.
